‘Q1’— NON-GREMLIN DEFINITION —A quarter refers to one-fourth of a year and is typically expressed as Q1 for the first quarter.

‘Q1’—THE GREMLIN DEFINITION—A season of iteration and self-belief in the wintertime. You dig deep, have faith that the creative seeds have been planted and routinely stick to the plan so that by Q2, you can start to see the creative fruit sprouting.

Q1 LESSONS

1. When an opportunity comes, level it down. That is the time to get pragmatic, not carried away.

2. Artists who live off their work put business first and art second and then sell it to the world like they put art first. 

3. The event is not traumatic; the trauma is how you deal with it afterwards and the story you construct.

4. Block out the distractions by placing what you need to do in eyesight.

5. Exercise the privilege of safety by creating rather than following.

6. To be an artist is to grow and change out loud.

7. Reduce the importance of everything, good and bad.

8. Create a world and share it before you know what it is - you will be thankful to have the trail of breadcrumbs afterwards.

9. People underestimate the power of femininity to create change.

10. Be generous with sharing online - this doesn’t mean sharing everything; it means not hiding behind cool tropes like captions that don’t say much but giving something you (or younger you) would find helpful.

11. They will see it when they see it. Head-down mode carries more clout than speaking.

12. Dreaming/envisioning is about clarifying the destination.

13. Manifesting is building a route to that destination. It is not the land; it is the bridge.

14. Beauty is not trivial. Is it a keystone of happiness.

15. Build it, and they will come.

16. When you are overwhelmed by the order of priority, remember that death is around the corner.

17. Loneliness is a sacrifice of dedication

18. When you die, who will miss your presence, and what will they say
