The ‘Slipstream’ Gremlin
Inner Gremlin: “Who are you riding with Karimah?”
Me: “Erm my friends, mentors, soul family, You-Tube teachers and inspirations?”
Inner Gremlin: “Yes, but whose consciousness are you melting with?”
Me: “Shut up Gremlin. I’m riding with the mastermind. You know this. Don’t test my patience”.
Picture the scene - I’m in bed, my head is achy and my energy reserves are depleted. I need a morale boost. At that point. I see a bird fly outside against the sunrise and I think “damn thats a sexy bird” (I know ‘sexy’?, but hey, it’s true). THEN I see a flock of birds and think “Wow. The formation is magnificent. But what about the bird at the front, they don’t all bare the same load of wind resistance?”
Birds fly in V-formation because it creates a slipstream which dissipates the energy load, making it easier for the birds flying at the back. The same concept in cycling is called ‘drafting’. The birds at the front cut through the wind and when their energy dwindles the birds rotate in formation; It’s why a flock of birds/cyclists can travel much farther than a bird flying solo.
And so, as I realised my energy is lagging, I realised I need to hang back, refill the cup and go to the back of the flock for a bit. That is what it’s like in a creative group vs a solo creator.
When two or more idividuals come together it creates a third entity - a mastermind. Between two people a mastermind may look like a shared desire to take a trip or a vision of their future relationship. Between a group the mastermind can look like a project, a garden, a manifesto etc. To a country the mastermind can manifest into collective beliefs around security or identity.
The mastermind I am part of is one where the final formation is one of higher conscious creating. That’s the destination I am migrating to.
