The ‘Me First’ Gremlin

I am an ever changing human beansprout
I am here to enjoy life
I am here to create my hearts deepest desire
AND I am here to make things better for myself and others

IN THAT ORDER

This week I learnt a very small and reassuring distinction between collaboration (power with) and directing (power over) and it made me sigh relief at the pacing of my career and it is this:

First comes individual power, then comes collaboration.

The contradiction is that for inclusivity to work people must first come to the choice of it individually. It is not collaboration if people are forced to work together.

For me, individual power looks like being honest and clear about my needs, and allowing myself to envision and walk towards my deepest desire taking full responsibility for my actions and state of being.

INTERNAL POWER IS EVERYTHING -

Individual power looks like comfortability with your light and shining it in a confident and non dominating way. Not to overpower others but to empower others. We can only do this when we embrace our unique self.

I am sharing this here because I know that there are many Gremlins in this newsletter who have fought and personally struggled to be able to call themselves c r e a t i v e. Familial wounds, guilt from society, lack of money and mental stress can lead to false shyness of a Gremlins Gifts and worse, Gremlin Guilt about pursuing a dream because that would be ‘neglecting their community and responsibilities’. This is a trap.

Our artistic dream is a stepping stone towards serving each other. What if, in order to fully devote ourselves to a collective, we must first allow ourselves to fully embrace our hearts deepest passions and talents?

In that way when we show up to collaborate we won’t be harbouring any subconscious resentment about the creative dreams we had buried but instead we will bring our creativity to the collaboration.

That’s it for this week.

Till next time you beautiful beast,

K X
